David O'Daniel
Raised in Western Australia, David left on his travels across three continents finally landing in San Francisco. A lifelong movie poster collector he made a chance discovery at a flea market of some screen printed posters made for SF movie houses in the 1970's and became obsessed with the idea of creating custom posters for venues today. Thus, in 2009, with little experience in art/design or screen printing, he started to make posters for The Castro Theatre. He has quickly become well respected among other artists and collectors alike. Due to his unique style, David is becoming more popular with every new print that he creates.
In some correspondence with David: "All my posters are printed by hand and by himself (myself?) on a press set up, that appears to have been made by wombles. It consists of a 40 year old vacuum cleaner, a kitchen table found in a dumpster, a squeegee, a very sore back and a bottle of advil."

Justin Santora
A Chicagoland based artist and illustrator focusing mainly on drawing and printmaking. Justin Santora's work is complex in process and thought but simple in beauty. The ideas of innocence and the loss there-of, the weaving memories that shape our lives, and the longing of someone who is outside looking in are all prevalent in the composition of Justin's work. The nostalgia of childhood that lingers on into our adult lives and the paths of daydreams we want to lose ourselves in are inherent in his art. The starkness of the landscapes and the muted panes of color form an emotional bond with the subject matter of the pieces through the painstakingly detailed fine lines and scratchings of the drawings themselves. Based out of Northern Illinois, Justin's amazing work stands out as a monument to all of our wishes even in the face of our sometimes daunting reality.

Malleus
From Tortona in Italy comes (arguably) the most imaginative and distinctive trios in the world of rock poster art. In this predominantly American world of rock posters the work created by Poia, Lu and Urlo (Malleus) is immediately recognizable with shades so distinctively European. A Malleus rock poster not only captures the spirit of the band but they beautifully capture the spirit and traditions of their homeland.
Iconography is at the forefront of their work and vast scenery including figurative arts, in particular Expressionism, Symbolism, Art Nouveau, Surrealism, Pop Art, Psychedelic Art and also comics, photography, cinema and literature. All these ingredients blend in with the main element of their poetics; the female form, the primordial goddess, from whom everything comes.
At the centre of Malleus' art we often find beautiful, yet mysterious women. Usually this is accentuated by occult symbolism worked into arcane textures. All of their work is based on masterful hand-drawings and reflect the artists' deep understanding and love for music.
Malleus' extensive catalogue of posters created to date includes works for acts such as: Beck, Blues Explosion, Brant Bjork, The Cure, Deftones, Dinosaur Jr., Eagles of Death Metal, Flaming Lips, Helmet, Iggy Pop & The Stooges, Kings of Leon, Mars Volta, Melvins, Mogwai, Mark Lanegan, Mudhoney, Muse, Nine Inch Nails, The Prodigy, Robert Plant, Queen of the Stone age, Sonic Youth, and many more...
The work of Malleus has been displayed in various collective and individual art shows. They have been included in "Art of Modern Rock", the gig poster gospel by Paul Grushkin and Dennis King, in "Art of Modern Rock: Mini #1 A-Z" and "Art of Modern Rock: Mini #2 Poster Girls" by Dennis king, in "Swag posters" by Judith Salavetz and in "A fistful of Rock'n'Roll" by Sal Canzonieri.

They have put their award-winning designs to work on posters for Wilco, Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews Band, Rilo Kiley and others.
"In college we learned in a more traditional way which allowed us to explore techniques that we use today. We never let our posters "look" computerized. We use the computer like a pencil or paint brush. The computer has allowed us to speed things up and to explore more options for sure, but we still belly up to the drafting table often. We draw inspiration form many artists be it musical or visual and our work tends to have a vintage influence".
